Turned posts and a Chippendale-style headboard lend 19th-century elegance to the queen-size bed.

Antique-style details of a matching dresser (turned knobs, serpentine pilasters and a convex upper drawer) complement the room's design scheme.

Photographs taken by carpenter David Brown showcase limestone used in home cladding applications. Framed in burlwood, photos form a focal point below each north-facing window.

Continuing the room's focus as a retreat, breakfast and snacks are served room-service style. The delicate blooms of a petite phalaenopsis orchid complement other thoughtful details in the space.

A study in symmetry, pendant lights hover above end tables, lending a pinch of modern style. Layers of linen bedding and throw pillows create a nest-like experience.

The glint of gold elevates the rustic design of a swirled-wire bird's nest, a nod to HGTV Dream Home's riverfront location.

A fresh spring shade of green is delivered in small, managed doses throughout the home.

A drum stool, braided over with water hyacinth fibers, serves as both seating and a tabletop surface. The furnishing lends texture as well as a touch of Asian-chic style.

Soft chenille-covered chairs form a seating area under the suite's picture window. A private entrance to the outdoor living room is tucked in the anteroom, just steps away.

Drapery spans the width of two walls. The luxurious layer of fabric transforms the space into a cozy cocoon.

"Buttons #3," a mixed-media encaustic by Amber George, catches the eye in the room's far corner. "I really liked the feeling of this painting. It is bold yet whimsical, and the color palette was perfect for the room," says Linda. "It was all about the soft blue and the contrast of the rich brown."

The guest suite hallway is illuminated by a series of whitewashed sheet-iron hurricanes. The vintage street-light style of fixtures connects the room and anteroom to outdoor spaces.

One of many stop-and-pause moments, a decorative vignette at the guest suite entrance reminds visitors that time should be of no consequence in this relaxing modern-rustic ranch home.

A hall bench, upholstered in soft cotton, provides a spot to stop and reflect or kick off shoes after time spent outdoors.

Embroidered pillows continue the room's focus on heirloom-quality pieces.

The guest bedroom leads to a spa-style guest bathroom, which borrows its color palette and design sensibility from the bedroom.
