Jillian removed the entire wall between the old kitchen and dining room, creating space for an island with a live edge 100 year old fir countertop. Joyce wanted a timeless design that would stand the test of time and Steven wanted it to be contemporary. Big and open was another wish, so that they could fulfill their entertaining needs. The wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room was removed. The previous walls were all Popcorn Walls, now refinished and painted Silver Drop dining and living room. The Oak hardwood floors throughout the main floor were refinished. There are new casings on all the windows throughout the main floor. Within the dining room are two built-in China Cabinets, white with glass doors that were rebuilt. The ceilings were just above the windows and the greatest design surprise for Jillian was being able to open the space up by vaulting the ceilings.
As seen on Love It or List It, Too, designer Jillian Harris was inspired by Scandinavian design for Kelly and Steve's kitchen remodel. She used clean lines, ample amounts of white, and small pops of subdued color throughout the space. She gave the family plenty of seating with the breakfast bar and the large farmhouse style table in the dining area just off the kitchen.

The homeowners needed a space where the family could come in from enjoying their time in the pool and leave their wet things. The mint green and cream striped walls give the space a beach feel, while the bright red "pool" lettering gives the space a touch of modern flair.
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, the primary challenge for Kevin & Celine's family home was maintaining a balance between the heritage of the house and incorporating a modern design. Designer Jillian Harris bridged the border between modern and historical by choosing a modern version of tile for the backsplash. The originally planned grey slate tiles were set aside with the discovery of the original fir floor boards. A large peninsula created as a gathering place for the family. A deep pantry to the right of the fridge was designed by having to close off a small corridor that was no longer to code.

As seen on HGTV's Love It Or List It, Too, Designer Jillian Harris modernized this west coast home by removing a pillar that sat in the middle of the entrance. She painted the walls with Behr Cotton Knit and installed engineered hickory hardwood flooring with Tremblant stain. The kitchen entrance was removed and the pantry and office desk area were closed in to create the laundry room. The Ceasarstone kitchen countertops, London Grey and Stone Grey, were extended along the back wall. Jillian removed another pillar in the centre of the kitchen and modernized the existing island with clean straight lines. Jillian completes the kitchen with Antique Imperial Mist subway tile for the backsplash.
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, Jillian Harris has added a double vanity to the couple's bathroom. This luxurious dark wood vanity adds a place for storage, while making the space more functional. Using two mirrors instead of one large one gives the space a more glamorous, modern look to compliment the dark cabinets.
