Leadwort

Ceratostigma plumbaginoides, or leadwort, bears bronze green to dark green leaves set off with deep blue flowers. The foliage turns scarlet red in the fall.

Willow

Salix reticulata, or willow, are deciduous shrub with simple leaves and tiny flowers in catkins. It forms a dense mat and seldomly towers more than an inch above the ground.

Geraniums

Geranium macrorrhizum, or cranesbill, is an easy care perennial that grows practically anywhere. Plants form spreading mound of large, fragrant green leaves, bearing deep magenta pink flowers in early summer.

Dead Nettle

Lamium maculatum 'Beacon Silver', or dead nettle, has silvery white leaves with green edges that form a lush groundcover. Small, pink pale flowers appear from late spring til early fall.

California Lilac

California lilac grows quickly to form dense mounds of blue flowers. It’s a California favorite and blooms mid-to late spring.

'Purple Palace'

Heuchera micrantha 'Palace Purple' is used for edge of border, or in containers and tubs. Plants form low mound of maple shaped leaves, from bronze green to rich purple-red. Spikes of creamy white blooms appear early summer.

Greater Periwinkle

Vinca major 'Variegata', or greater periwinkle, is good for brightening up a shady spot. This evergreen, trailing groundcover has dark green leaves with yellowish white edges. Blue flowers appear in spring.

Cotoneaster

Cotoneaster dammeri is a fast growing creeping shrub and an excellent groundcover for establishing on slopes and dangling over walls. Small fragrant white flowers appear in late spring, followed by bright red berries in autumn.

'Hertfordshire' Groundcover Rose

Rosa 'Hertfordshire' is a deciduous groundcover rose that produces saucer-shaped, pink flowers that bloom all summer under bright green foliage.
