Makes about 10 small or 5 large cookies, depending on cookie cutter size

Ingredients

12 ounces all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons ground ginger
4 ounces butter
6 ounces light brown sugar
4 tablespoons light corn syrup or golden syrup
2 egg whites

For decoration:
Rudolph cookie cutter, or your favorite holiday shape
10 ounces melted white chocolate
Red candy melts
Edible red glitter (available at baking supply stores)
Ribbon
Small paintbrush (used for cooking only)

Directions

Preheat oven to 375° F. Sift flour, baking soda and ginger into a large bowl. Using a pastry cutter or two knives, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar. In a medium bowl, mix syrup and egg whites until just combined. Add to flour mixture and mix until just combined.

Roll the dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut using a Rudoph cookie cutter. Place cookies onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden. Allow to cool.

When cool, melt the chocolate and candy melts and paint the details onto the cookie
using a paintbrush. Sprinkle with edible glitter and tie a ribbon to the neck. To give this cookie as a take-home favor, package each one inside a clear bag topped with a printable favor bag label.
