These cozy homemade slippers make an ideal gift for a child, but find out his or her shoe size first so that the slippers will fit properly. The templates are based on a child’s 12 1/2 shoe size, so enlarge or reduce the template accordingly. Use soft material, such as a shrunken woolen scarf, so the slippers feel really comfortable.

Materials Needed:

• thick felt for the soles, in two different colors
• shrunken woolen scarf or pieces of colored felt for the uppers
• pins

• scissors
• white wool, colored wool and a large darning needle

Step 1

Cut out two left feet and two right feet from the thick white felt. Then cut out one left foot and one right foot from the red felt.

Step 2

Cut one left and one right upper from the scarf using the other template. You should now have three cut-outs for each foot, and two uppers.

Step 3

Pin the right upper to one of the white right soles and sew the two pieces together at the edge with white wool using running stitch.
