4. Water the Plants
Water the plants regularly, especially during dry weather. Marigolds will grow to 6 inches (15 cm) high to create the goldfish shape and the alyssum will grow smaller around them. Place container in full sunlight and use moist potting soil. The seeds germinate in 1 week and flowers appear 6 weeks later. Slugs love to eat marigold seedlings so protect the plants from them. Be sure to also remove dead flowers, since this will encourage further flowering. CMA Image ID: 2637507
For another container, consider creating fun shapes with other flowers. Design your name, a machine or object, or a favorite animal in floral patterns.
