Black-and-white art aligned at the bottom

The key to a successful black-and-white wall is mixing pieces that are primarily black with others that are mostly white. Throwing in a few wood frames keeps the combo from looking too stark. Hang the lowest row first with the frames lined up at the bottom, then build up from there.

Personal photos hung in a grid

Don’t just look at your favorite photos on your phone — frame them! We used framebridge.com to crop our photos square, print them, and frame them in identical white frames. Hang them in a tight grid with the frames evenly spaced about 2 inches apart. Start with the bottom center one. A level is helpful to keep everything straight.

A favorite color in frames that touch

There’s no easier way to choose art for a gallery wall than by limiting the color palette to your favorite shade. These blue-and-white pieces look pulled together — literally! To hang this grouping, we started with the Los Angeles print and worked our way out. Lay the configuration on the floor first and take a photo with your phone for reference.

Abstract art arranged symmetrically

This wall starts with two large pieces of art centered one on top of the other. Three smaller frames hang on the left, with the same size frames on the right. Tip: Buy your frames first (all in one color), then fill them with art. For this grouping, we picked abstract prints in poppy colors and trimmed some to fit the frames.
