Space under a staircase is often a missed design opportunity. Here, interior designer Linda Woodrum recaptured the space for use as a room just for Fido. The Dutch door allows the pet to stay inside its area when guests come over, yet still be able to see or hear the action.

A mix of rustic, traditional and modern, the powder room makes a bold statement, starting with the sage-green walls and stained wood blocks applied in a grid pattern. A porthole-style mirror, antiqued brass vessel sink and hammered metal pendants add texture and shine.
