Drew and Linda's Honeymoon House: Living Room Luxury

Drew Scott and his fiancé Linda are newly engaged, planning their wedding and have just bought a vintage fixer-upper in Los Angeles. The catch: they have to finish renovating the home in just 12 weeks — in time to host a big wedding party. Check out the transformation of the foyer, living room office and powder room, and some behind-the-scenes pics.

Smitten Kittens

There's always time for romance. Drew and Linda pause for a break in the midst of renovation work on their 3400-square-foot vintage home in LA. In addition to Drew and Jonathan (and occasionally JD), Linda's a full-on participant in the remodel.

Everybody Loves Demo Day

Jonathan and Drew start demolition on the living room's existing fireplace.

Style Check

Drew pauses mid-way through demo to check the state of his coif in the mirror conveniently located above the mantel. The mirror is about to be demolished.

Style Check

Drew awards himself a perfect score. Jonathan is less than amused.

Safety First

Linda wisely keeps a safe distance as the boys proceed with smashing things in the living room.

Stylish Application

Linda and Drew prep the distinctive patterned wallpaper that will become a keynote element in the newly refurbished downstairs powder room. The small bathroom will become one of the most visually dramatic transformations in the project.

Foyer, Before

The foyer stairs and original railing were among the home's distinctive original attributes. Drew and Linda wanted to preserve and restore them if feasible.

Foyer, After

Unfortunately the condition of the original stairs was such that the stairs themselves could not be repaired, but the original configuration was kept intact and the original curved handrail was able to be salvaged. The new iron railing was "built around" the original banister.

Living Room, Before

The massive living room would become a focal point in establishing the overall look of the renovated home.

Living Room, After

“We’re restoring elements of the English-inspired architecture and adding modern updates,” said Drew. “Linda and I are going for an old Hollywood glam, Art Deco design style.”

Living Room, Before

The living room is located just off the front foyer and directly across from a room that would become a stylized and elegant den and library.

Living Room, After

The centerpiece of the renovation, the living room and other living front-and-center spaces on the first floor, is a blend of old and new elements and represents the perfect melding of Drew and Linda's individual styles.

The Den, Before

The Den, After

The newly remodeled den features paneled walls painted in rich blue-gray, new recessed lighting and modern styled desk and furnishings.

Other highlight features in the den include original pocket doors, now fully restored, and a large bay window.

Living Room, Detail

Style and furnishings in the living room effectively marry elements of old and new, modern and classic. The mirror above the mantel is actually a flat screen TV that displays a mirrored surface when not in use.

A straight-armed sofa with simple, clean lines helps set the modern tone for the living room furnishings.

Arm chairs and end tables by Joss & Main also help contribute a modern flair to the living room.

The Powder Room, After

The downstairs powder room, just off the foyer, is one of the most dramatic of the newly refurbished spaces. "Nobody can ever claim that you can't have big impact in a small space," said Jonathan. The new bathroom features striking high-contrast wallpaper, black and white tile, Art Deco inspired fixtures and finishes, and a framed print of the Eiffel Tower.

The three Scott brothers, Linda PHan and her sister April pose for a pic in the newly renovated den and office.

What better way to welcome Linda to the Scott family than with a box of donuts that spell out a clear message — delivered courtesy of Mr. JD Scott?
