About

David and Paul established their Cambridge based firm after returning from California where they each worked for prominent Bay Area residential architects.  The work of Foley Fiore Architecture can now be found throughout the East Coast.  In addition to numerous projects in the Boston metropolitan area, they have created a niche designing waterfront homes on Cape Cod, Cape Ann, Martha’s Vineyard, the North Fork of Long Island, Shelter Island and the Hamptons.

Paul and David enjoy the process of getting to know each client and learning how they live, work, and where they find beauty.  When designing new homes and renovations, they draw inspiration from a beautiful view, a favorite painting, or where the sun is best for breakfast.  Style is determined by the unique needs of each client, existing structure, and building site.  Their projects range from historic renovations to transitional to modern.  Throughout all phases of the design and construction process, the team at Foley Fiore Architecture brings the individual attention of a small firm with the knowledge and production capabilities of a large firm.  Their ability to listen to clients and to realize their vision has resulted in a long list of repeat clients and a portfolio of unique architecture and interiors.

Sustainability

Sustainable design has always been a priority at Foley Fiore Architecture.  We are certified Passive House and LEED AP and the underlying principles of these methodologies are employed in all of our projects. We discuss issues of sustainability with our clients at the onset of each project and collaborate with them to achieve their goals.  For some clients this may mean making sensible and economical decisions at each stage of the project; for others it may mean the design of a LEED or Passive House Certified project.

Throughout all phases of a project each decision is informed by environmental impact. This may include building placement and orientation on the site; quantitative and qualitative analysis of windows and doors; a recycling program for demolition materials; selection of sustainable products and materials; efficient design of the building envelope; and mechanical delivery systems (e.g. integration of geothermal).

Our goal for each project is to tread as lightly on the earth as possible and we take pride in the steps we have taken toward this goal.
