Take a Dip

The pool and cabana at Nancy Hooff's Atlanta home were added in 2008, more than a decade after the landscape plan was created for her Atlanta yard. "From the beginning, she knew she wanted a swimming pool," says Deanna Pope Ozio of Pope-Ozio & Associates, based in Decatur, Georgia. "We graded out the site and made a platform that’s the current level of the pool terrace. That area for several years was the lawn."

Striking Sunroom

Atlanta architect Bill Litchfield designed the sunroom, which was among the renovations to the 1930s Tudor-style home. The homeowners can open up the iron and glass doors onto the stone patio with stunning containers when entertaining. The Hooff's dog Melvin seems to like it.

Entertaining Area

Boxwoods and multi-trunk 'Natchez' crepe myrtle surround the dining terrace behind the Tudor-style home. Accent plants include Pyracantha trained to center wall. Previously, the area was a herb garden with bamboo encroaching from further in the yard.

Relaxation Space

The cabana curtains can be closed to create an intimate space, especially when enjoying the warmth of the fireplace. The vaulted cabana is decorated with contemporary furniture from Sutherland and colorful ceramic art by Atlanta artist Mario Petrirena.
