Backyard Family Hangout

Playing off the couple's love of board games – especially Scrabble – Don created a custom paver patio laid out as a standard Scrabble board. The simple cedar benches resemble the game's tile holders, and the columns of concrete "tiles" serve as either seating or tables. The one-of-a-kind game area even works as a Scrabble board, thanks to plywood tiles stenciled with letters and point values. A stone firepit in the corner adds ambience and warmth for year-round gaming.
