“This space had a clean, timeless look, but it needed a fresh, young vibe, too,” says Denise Davies, a designer in Westport, CT. To jazz up the classic white subway and penny tiles, she went with a dotty green-and-white fabric by Studio Bon for the Roman shade. Also unexpected: a mat with giant palm leaves from Urban Outfitters and dip-dyed Serena & Lily stools that can double as plant stands.
