Materials and Tools:
book: Fabric Picture Books by Gwen Marston
fabric scraps or fat quarters with desired shapes; animals, bugs, faces, etc.*
rotary cutter and mat
ruler
quilting notions
* Or utilize applique, paper piecing and/or photo transfer techniques — there's no limit to this project.
Steps:
3. Determine the block size and square each block to ensure that all blocks are the same size. Note: To enlarge the blocks just add border strips.
4. Cut fabric spines 1-1/2 inches wide and the length of the page and stitch two pages together (one page unit) and press.
6. Pin the book's perimeter leaving a 2-1/2- to three-inch opening. Stitch the perimeter beginning and ending with a backstitch to secure.
7. Turn the book inside out and stitch the opening closed. Press.
