Cozy Family Game Room

Different games require different seating, so the two side chairs are lightweight and can easily be moved. The dated wall paneling and the ceiling are painted muted green. By painting the ceiling the same color as the wall, it creates an optical illusion that makes the room seem bigger. The homeowner’s plain coffee table is repurposed to provide extra storage for remote controls and games. A box is built with top-opening, hinged doors and then fastened to the top of the coffee table. The entire piece is painted brown, then the family paints their own customized designs on top.
