Property Brothers to the Rescue!

Drew and Jonathan Scott returned to their roots to renovate the ranch of family friends Rosemary and Tommy Bew. First up: The tiny, dated ranch hand cabin on the property.

Exterior, Before

Known as Scotty's Cabin, former Bew family ranch hand Scotty lived here until he passed away last year. Drew and Jonathan are sprucing it up for the next resident, all while keeping the home's rustic charm.

A (Farm) Dog's Life

Jonathan, Drew and their crew replaced the home's crumbling front porch with a fresh one made from stained heart pine.

Exterior, After

A new rustic cedar bench outfitted with a cowhide throw and indoor-outdoor pillows invites guests to sit and take in the view. A custom iron sign remembers the home's previous resident.

A Family Affair

Living Room, Before

Before the renovation, this rustic home featured a mish-mash of furniture and dated rustic details.

Drew and Jonathan added hardwood floors, then painted the pine wall paneling bright white. A pint-sized sectional adds seating for a small group in this living room, while a watercolor horse painting nods to the home's placement on a working ranch.

Living Room, After

The Bew's guest cabin has been totally renovated from the inside out. The bright white interior makes the small living space appear larger, while smart space planning made room for a fireplace between the living room and bedroom.

The modern gas fireplace features clean lines, while a live edge mantel adds a rustic touch.

Kitchen, Before

Before the renovation, the kitchen had dated cabinets and limited workspace.

Changing the the cabinet layout in the kitchen made room for a modern island and a full-sized refrigerator. The island doubles as a workspace and a seating area.

Treats From Mom

Drew's mom offers him a cupcake. Hey, mother knows best!

Brothers at Home

Bedroom, Before

Before the renovation, this cabin had a studio-style layout, with the sleeping space in the same large room as the living, kitchen and dining areas.

Bedroom, After

A modern, neutral palette transforms this sleeping space into a hotel-inspired getaway.

An upholstered headboard and plush bedding adds to the room's luxurious vibe.

Fresh flowers sit beside the bed in the newly-renovated space.

Bathroom, Before

This home's bedroom hasn't been updated for more than 20 years, since Drew and Jonathan's father updated the home's plumbing. It's in major need of a cosmetic fix!

Bathroom, After

The new cabin bathroom features a glass-enclosed stand-up shower, which creates the illusion of added square footage. A wood countertop adds a rustic touch to this space.

A new barn door separates the sleeping space from the bathroom and main living area.

Toast to a Job Well Done

Drew, Jonathan and JD enjoy a drink on the new Scotty's cabin porch. Cheers!
