We all know Kim has been hard at work with her budget-friendly show, Myles of Style. She's also helped design spaces for HGTV Showdown and $250,000 Challenge.

After Design Star, I competed in HGTV Showdown and hosted Over Your Head. I've been designing insane jobs from Alaska to Beverly Hills with my company, Epic Spaces, and have filmed commercials for the Chase Bank, an Amp energy drink fight scene and California Tourism Board, where I jumped off cliffs in Tahoe with skis. Don't miss my new book, Handy Dad, which will be out before Father's Day 2010.

I have been so blessed since Design Star. I have been working on various interior and exterior design projects and have done some creative development groups with kids which have encouraged them to "Discover Their Style" at a local museum. I have undertaken several commercial jobs from boutiques to barbershops. My most amazing, newfound talent has been outdoor spaces and major landscape development projects. I am getting into the design, plan and build mode and learning so much new information everyday. I have also been doing lots of consulting and project management for various clients all over the country. I love being a designer!

Since my appearance on Design Star, I have done a lot! Todd Davis and I are in regular contact. Last summer he asked me to come to California to help him with a substantial design project in Beverly Hills. I arrived in LA to no bags at the baggage claim and worked for two days with the clothes I arrived in (much like Design Star in a way). Todd and I spent 10 days banging out two dynamic children's rooms at the former estate of Ginger Rogers. It was a blast!
I have done some work with a TV production company as well. I could tell you, but then . . . so we will see what happens. I just completed illustrating a children's book, Oliver Wagglebones and The Watchers, which should be out later this summer. In addition to doing various interior projects, I did some work for the Orlando Habitat for Humanity Project. I was on their stage for three days at the Southern Women's Show demonstrating how to design big with small money. In addition, I'm heavily involved in my brother's musical career. Chris headlined one of Harrah's casinos in the Midwest for New Year's Eve 2009, and we are launching an album later this summer — whew! Enough about me. Say "hey" to all my fans, or those who think I was not their favorite, too!

I have made numerous public and televised appearances, as well as speaking at special events and home shows, and, acting as spokesperson for a number of design-related products and manufacturers. Additionally, I was a featured designer on HGTV.com's "Holiday Essentials" in winter 2008 and was a commentating host for the Design Star season three vlog series. I also served as a guest judge on HGTV's Summer Showdown in 2008. After relocating to West Hollywood, Calif., in April of 2009, I'm collaborating with an LA-based production company for the creative development, production and hosting of my own versatile television series, slated with an air date of late 2009. I'm truly grateful and humbled by the continued support and encouragement of my fans, always urging them to "Sparkle and Shine!"

I'm still as green as ever! I've been an active advocate for green living and have been a featured guest at more than 20 national home and garden shows the past two years. I maintain my business, Thrive Design Studio, out of my hometown Minneapolis and have just opened up a second office in Boulder, Colo. I've had the privilege of working on some of the greenest homes in the country and am now spending more time in the commercial and consulting worlds. I sit on several sustainable building committees in Minnesota and am very involved with the U.S. Green Building Council. Personally, I'm living an eco-life to the fullest. I drive a smart car, ride an electric bicycle to my office everyday, am a budding vegetarian, charge my cell phone with solar power and claim carbon neutrality! Oh, and I share all of my green discoveries on my blog, MetroHippie.com. I've also been keeping myself busy with other media outlets. Last year I hosted a series on HGTV.com called, "Get Green with Organic Josh," and am currently hosting the Greenprints segment on Minneapolis-based show Blueprint for Green.

Wow! I can't believe how the time has flown by. I think about the wonderful experience that Design Star was for me and how that amazing opportunity opened so many doors for a dynamic career in the world of interior design. I have been extraordinarily busy and have had the opportunity to work with some great clients from all over. I cherish the time and experience that I gained while being in Las Vegas, the friends that were made is something that I will cherish forever. I have no complaints from my end, just passionate about design and always having a positive outlook on new doors that continue to open for my future!
