Interior designer Cathy Hobbs, ASID, chose to soften this '80s-designed living room by adding soft materials such as leather, an oversized area rug and soft goods such as pillows and throws. "The entire apartment consisted of white and black marble flooring," says Hobbs. Hobbs chose to instead of covering up the black and white flooring to embrace it by adding more black and white and then mixing in a bold accent color, in this case a crisp lime green.
