Designer's Notes

This master bedroom is the winning design from HGTV's Showhouse Showdown. The room has contemporary furnishings such as the bed paired with more traditional furnishings such as the end tables. The patterns on the bed linens and the crushed velvet fabric on the chaise add texture to the room. The green-painted stripe that begins behind the headboard of the bed and flows along the walls of the room is a re-interpretation of the traditional chair rail. The continuous green line ties everything in the room together and supports the cohesive design. The limited edition photograph of the cockatoo is a whimsical detail intended to create a focal point in the room while encouraging conversation and an providing an element of surprise.
