Electronic System Contractor's Notes:

This area is the main level of a newly constructed two story home office and billiard room. The goal was to provide a large display that could be used for watching television and movies in varying ambient light conditions, additional displays for watching multiple sporting events or monitoring surveillance cameras on the property, and a high-quality digital audio system. Electronic System Contractor's Notes:

The system includes three Sony XBR series flat panel televisions – one 70" display, and two 40" displays. To balance the difference in height between the 70" display and the stacked 40" displays, and to provide a fun and unique feature in the space, we specified a custom sports/headline ticker above the 70" television. Electronic System Contractor's Notes:

Custom cabinetry, designed to match the decor of the room and to house the televisions, was also used to conceal the main (left, center, right) speakers. Custom cut louvers in the custom wall paneling serves as a custom grille for the Velodyne in-wall subwoofer. All of the systems in this area are controlled with a 5.2" AMX wireless touchpanel. In addition, the natural and artificial lighting in the room is controlled with a combination of Lutron HomeWorks lighting controls and Sivoia QED motorized shading. Electronic System Contractor's Notes:

A complete 5.1 digital home theater audio system was installed to complement the video portion of the design. Sources include high-definition DirecTV satellite receivers and a Kaleidescape movie player. Music from the whole-house music system is also connected to the audio components in this area. To conserve space in the room and reduce overall cabinet depth, all of the system components are housed in a component rack in the lower level mechanical room.
