Staircase: Victorian Guest Cottage

The stairwell and skylight occupy the center volume of the house, allowing natural light to filter throughout the interior. Playful details abound - undulant baluster collars interject a sense of movement and rhythm to the staircase. The "triple bead" beadboard paneling was inspired by paneling found in an old structure on the property.

Romeo and Juliet windows open into the arched ceiling, looking down to the second floor loggia and entry hall below. The wall colors get lighter in tone as they approach the skylight.
