Cover shades with a room's fabric so they coordinate and add beaded trim for an elegant finishing touch.
Materials:

chandelier shades (made to be covered in fabric)
fabric
beaded trim
hot glue

Steps:

1. Remove the paper lining over the shade to reveal the sticky surface. Use the template provided to cut the fabric according to the directions.
2. Roll the shade over the fabric, smoothing it as you go. Glue the ends to the inside of the shade to cover the top and bottom edges.
3. Glue beaded trim along the inside bottom edge for a finishing touch.

This pretty shade is layered from the bottom up like a shingled roof with overlapping flower petals kept in place with hot glue. Whole flowers attached here and there add even more dimension.

Another option is to stencil paper or plastic shades to enhance a room's theme. Tape the stencil in place and apply the paint over it. Reposition the stencil as needed until you have a beautiful handcrafted shade.
