Each year, first lady Michelle Obama chooses a theme for the home's holiday decor. This year's theme is "Gather Around," a celebration of coming together with loved ones during the holiday season. Each room in the White House will showcase this idea through handmade decorations and unique Christmas trees.

Guests enter the White House through the East Visitors Entrance. This welcoming spot features two trees decked in gold pinecones flanking the entrance and fresh garland accented by burgundy ribbons.

The first tree guests see is a full evergreen decorated with gold leaves, copper ornaments and glittering burgundy ribbon. Did You Know? The home features 24 Christmas trees this holiday season.

The walkway leading to the entrance features lanterns, boughs of fresh greenery and hanging metallic ornaments just above the doorway.
