Designer's Notes

Drastically changing the configuration of this area transformed it from a dark, rectilinear space into a warm, inviting one that revolves around the circular center island and outer workspace. This kitchen is the real heart, or hub, of this home. We created a sophisticated open space design that naturally extends out into a formal dining room, a breakfast room, and a wet bar that opens into the spacious living room. It's one large space that allows the homeowners, a close-knit family, the luxury of always being together.
