Distinctive Look
This timeless style home and detached garage were given a distinctive look. “The exterior stands out from most of the houses here because it’s painted a really calming shade of blue, with navy-blue shutters, all white trim and a charcoal shingle roof,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.

Local Flavor
The overall color scheme for this impressive home that sits on a marsh was inspired by the beautiful coastal location of this popular South Carolina destination, with rich lime green, deep blue and brown-gray colors.

Multifunctional Space
An attractive circular driveway with gray-toned pavers and a graphite tone curb border leads from the street up to the house and detached garage, that was equipped with a pool table and other amenities. “The idea is to go ahead and open the detached garage and be able to just entertain in the front yard as much as you do in the backyard,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.

Natural Beauty
Live oak trees that twist all around the front and back of the property were incorporated into the landscape design with Palisades Zoysia, a medium-broad textured, high-density turf noted for its shade tolerance and low water-use requirements. “Hilton Head Island is a preservation community and they want to keep all the trees they can,” says build manager Scott Branscom. “These live oak trees with Spanish moss are very beautiful and definitely something you want to keep.”

Well-Chosen Plants
Since the placement of this house encourages low light with indirect sunlight throughout the front yard, a selection of plants were used that favor this type of environment. The plants were strategically placed to welcome the beauty and relaxed style of the Lowcountry.
