Vanilla Ice arrives in Amish country and says goodbye to modern conveniences as he settles into his new life on the farm with his Amish host John. After an early morning wake up call, and a rigorous round of shoveling manure, Ice joins his Amish construction crew to begin renovating an outdated kitchen for a devout Amish family experiencing some hardship.
John assigns Vanilla Ice to a backyard patio project and relies on him to bring his Florida design talents to this bleak Ohio yard. Working hard to win over his new Amish crew, led by 19-year-old foreman Kevin, he learns first-hand about their work ethic while teaching them a few tricks and rhymes of his own.
John wants Vanillia Ice's help on his next big project - a Mennonite family's basement that's in desperate need of an update. The Amish know craftsmanship and Rob knows how to rock out an entertainment space, so together they transform the dungeon-like basement into a modern, zen family room.
Vanilla Ice and co-worker Mel come up with a plan for a fantastic facelift to the hilltop house - including new windows, an extended patio with awning, decorative cultured stone and low maintenance landscaping that Mel and is wife can handle with minimal effort. Meanwhile Vanilla Ice 'ices out' his very own Amish buggy, turning quite a few heads when he rolls up on the job site.
When John heads out of town for a horse auction, Vanilla Ice asks to work with Robert on a neighbor's barn renovation - an excellent opportunity to give back to the community that has given him so much. Knowing they'll need all the manpower they can get, Rob brings in his own team from Florida while Robert rallies all the familiar Amish faces to join forces in an old-fashioned barn raising.
