Heather, Andrew and Steven McCall ask the Gaines to help them find a retreat for their missionary parents. Dr. Tim McCall and his wife Janice run an orphanage in Uganda, living almost year-round in a 160-square-foot home. They're entrusting their kids and the Gaines to find them a comfortable refuge for their biannual visits to Waco. But their sanctuary may be out of reach, as unexpected structure problems challenge a modest budget and add stress to an already tight timeline. The drama continues as the Gaines run into a serious permit problem that could be a deal breaker for this fixer upper. Can the Gaines battle bureaucracy and complete the McCall's home in time for their short sabbatical?

Chip and Joanna Gaines are looking for a home in Northern Waco for clients Devon and Hannah Jonklaas. The Jonklaases want a home that offers lots of acreage and lots of bedrooms for their growing family. Devon, a biochemistry professor, would like to be closer to work and not too far from Hannah, who's expecting their third child. Chip and Jo show them a range of fixer uppers each with its own unique style and challenge. Will they choose the 1965 traditional covered in lime green carpeting, the lovely move-in ready with insufficient bedrooms, or the neglected farmhouse with lots of acreage that Devon says should be surrounded by crime tape? The challenges escalate when the Gaines' mini-inspection reveals some unusual damage by an unexpected antagonist adding a 3,000-dollar sting on the Jonklaas' tight budget. Has Mother Nature gotten the upper hand or will the Gaineses be able to tame the beast?

Rachel and Andrew Erwin are asking Chip and Jo to find them a home in the Viking Hills neighborhood where 'for sale' signs are rare. It's a place where people live but never leave. But the Gaines are determined to find the young family their dream home showing them three houses that are as diverse as Rachel's taste. Rachel likes a rustic feel with a delightful contrast of pops of color. Andrew wants space inside and out to accommodate his towering physique and his passion for the outdoors. Will they pick the stately colonial house with the wagon wheel light fixture, the split-level retro with the strange bathroom or the claustrophobic house loaded with louver doors? The Gaines have their work cut out for them, but Chip keeps it fun finding ways to lighten up Jojo's sometimes serious side - this time clothed in some daring duds.

Joel says he's ready to cowboy up and live like a farmer even though he doesn't even own a lawn mower. Joanna calls the project 'tricky' after hearing unfavorable feedback from Joel on the Gaines farmhouse followed by a dose of buyer's remorse. Can the Gaines appease this doc's despair? Or have these physicians taken on more than they can handle?

Chip and Joanna Gaines take clients Kimberly and Blake Batson on a tour through three houses in Waco, Texas. The young newlyweds run the 'Common Grounds' coffee shop and are looking for a home close to their business. Kimberly wants trees, land and a huge yard away from busy streets. Their demands are few but their budget is tight at $120,000. Their only requirement is to have a short commute and enough room in their new home to install two cherished custom windows. Will they choose the charming craftsman? Or 'The Movie Theater House' that Chip describes as a cross between a cinema and a funeral parlor? Or the secluded 'Little House on the Prairie' with a creek in the backyard? Whichever they pick, it's a sure bet that Chip will continue to bug Joanna with his crazy antics.

Chip and Joanna Gaines take Denitia and Norris Blount on a tour through three houses near Baylor University. The Blounts are almost empty-nesters with two kids at home and two on their own. Norris is the Sports Chaplain at Baylor and treats his students like family. They need a house to be big enough to entertain a whole football team. The Gaines' biggest challenge is working with the couple's conflicting tastes. Denitia loves old homes with lots of character and a big backyard. Norris wants a modern home with little or no yard, preferring astro-turf over grass. Will the Blounts be able to compromise on one of the three houses? Will they choose the Outdated Classic'with its large linebacker-size entryways and huge yard? Or will it be the 5-bedroom Unstately Manor with the bland exterior and backyard pool? Or will the winner be the Cute Cottage with the small lawn and party-size kitchen? The Gaines have their work cut out for them turning the Blount's house into a stadium-size home with a low-maintenance lawn.
