Before: Playing It Safe

The homeowners need a master bedroom that combines romance with family time, but the small bed, bare walls and clutter make the space undesirable. The dull, safe design needs some revamping the whole family will love.

After: Colorful Asian Theme

The colorful Asian theme allows for a romantic yet family-friendly space. A colorful, patterned quilt covers the king-size bed, while bamboo shades dress up the windows. The round Indonesian headboard is the focal point of the room, complete with multicolored LED lights that set the right mood. The cherry blossom wall mural, an inspiration from a photograph, adds to the Asian theme and counterbalances the two-toned walls.

Before: Too Much Going On

This photographer's loft functions as a bedroom, living room and workspace. The white walls and neutral furnishings don't allow for any creativity, and the broken cabinet door and clutter make the space disorganized.

After: Bold and Artistic

The photo mural on the back wall adds a pop of color and a modern touch to the space. The homeowner's original photography dresses up the orange-laminated Murphy bed, which is surrounded by shelves for extra storage and organization. Glued PVC pipes topped with a glass slab make up the coffee table, and the pillows bring an extra splash of color against the neutral sofa.

Before: Outdated and Overcrowded

This old-fashioned living space has no room for guests with its oversized sofa, and the dull furnishings and lack of artwork leave the space feeling gloomy.

After: Parisian Parlor

Bold artwork and elegant seating gives the sitting room Parisian flair. The French antique chairs have striped upholstery for a modern look, and the artwork is a conversation piece that makes the space a great place to entertain. The lightly striped wall paint opens up the small room, and vivid color and antique ceramic pieces spruce up the wall niche. The shelving under the bar countertop allows for extra storage space.

Before: Stuck in the '70s

This messy storage room has a view of the pool, making it a great space for a master bedroom. However, the mishmash of stuff, the '70s-style wood paneling on the wall and the odd shape of the room create a problem.

After: A Spa Retreat

Every element in the room gives a spa-like feel to the space. The wallpaper is made from a thin cork overlaid on bronze Mylar for a textured look, while the opposite wall is a refreshing green color. The hardwood bed frame flows with the flooring and brings sleek, contemporary style to the space. The white furniture counterbalances with the wall color and purple accents throughout the bedroom.

Before: Too Much Clutter

The bed consumes the entire master bedroom, and the office space in the corner leaves no room for storage. The lack of artwork doesn't deliver any style to the space.

After: A Beach Vacation

The peaceful blue wall color and grass-cloth wallpaper with Japanese waves bring a beach theme to the space. The 3-D art with organic shapes fits like a puzzle and acts as the focal point in the room, and the bed has drawers underneath it for extra storage. The simple floating bedside tables complement the bold wall art.

Before: Blank Canvas

This stylish loft has many great features, but it lacks a functional kitchen. A refrigerator is the only thing that occupies the generous space beneath the staircase.

After: Industrial-Style Kitchen

The industrial-style kitchen flows with the rest of the loft. The backsplash is a mix of concrete and aged, steel pieces that look like parts of old signs while the countertops are a mix of metal epoxy and concrete. The solid cabinet doors represent the homeowner's love for circuitry, and pots and pans hang from the metal ceiling grates to add to the industrial look.
