Before: Unused Corner
Turn any unused, messy corner into a functional nook for reading and relaxing. Follow our simple instructions below.
Purchase Precut Plywood
Turn two solid bookshelves sideways, and measure the tops of each (Image 1). Purchase precut plywood that matches the measurements (Images 2 and 3).
Cut Foam to Size
Place plywood on foam batting and trace with a marker (Image 1). Cut foam to size using utility scissors (Image 2).
Attach Foam to Plywood
Apply super glue or spray adhesive to the plywood, and press foam on top until adhered.
Lay foam on top of the fabric (pattern side down) (Image 1), and wrap the foam with the fabric like a present. Staple in the middle of the two longest sides to hold in place (Image 2), then continue stapling around each edge. Repeat all steps with the other bookshelf.
Place the two bookshelves sideways into the corner. Place a fabric-covered foam piece on each bookshelf.
Install Window Shades
Install easy-to-adjust shades. Try LEVOLOR's Natural Shades to add texture, privacy and light control.
Add Personal Touches
Store your favorite books, and incorporate stylish furnishings like throw pillows, a rug, an ottoman and plants (Images 1 and 2).
