Contemporary vs. Traditional in Chicago

After moving to Chicago two years ago for his job as a university professor, Ebbin and his wife Brianne have decided to buy. While they both agree on the $450,000 budget, they have very different ideas on what to buy. Ebbin is very traditional and would like a brownstone with lots of wood and exposed brick. Brianne is looking for a contemporary condo or timber loft with an open layout and modern finishes. Most importantly for Ebbin, there has to be a den for his beloved Chesterfield sofas.
