Struggling with Tony and Nicola's competing desires, property consultant Henk is worried he won't find a home that will make them both happy. Family Style in Fiji

Ever since Scott and Sacha honeymooned in Fiji, Scott has been dreaming of a simple life on the beach. They want to escape the hectic trappings of modern life in Australia so they're going off the grid to one of Fiji's outer islands, Taveuni. This couple has a goal to relax in Fiji, but they've been overwhelmed by home prices. Scott can live with a more rustic set up if it means being steps from the shore, but Sacha knows with two small kids, they have to be practical about the kind of home they pick.

Missouri Loves Company

After years of pounding the pavement in L.A., Michael and Andrea want to live simply on their own homestead. So they're heading to Missouri where land is cheaper. But unlike the typical home buyer looking for bells and whistles, Michael and Andrea want to disconnect from the grid and find a sustainably built home made with all natural materials. While they plan to live off the land and pursue their dream of starting a brewery, Michael wants more acreage than Andrea thinks they can handle. Sustainably built homes are also rare, so real estate agent Kaye may have to expand the hunt over two states to find the perfect off the grid home for this couple.

Fulfilling Dreams in Morocco

City life in Melbourne, Australia had Art Director Karen feeling run down. After an invigorating a trip to Morocco, she was inspired to open up her own artists' retreat. She's hoping to find an off the grid compound with enough room for herself and a few artists to stay and work. Life in the desert can be harsh, but for Karen solace can be found in the most remote parts of the desert. It's a huge risk, so her friend Jess is concerned starting a business venture in the middle of nowhere, may not be such a good idea. Local contact, Youssef struggles to help Karen achieve her ambitions dreams while considering Jess's prudent advice.

Yap Is On The Map

A dream job offer has cultural anthropologist Steve Krause moving to one of the most remote and exotic nations on the planet, the Federated States of Micronesia. Based on the isolated island of Yap, Steve wants the kind of traditional style home that he's spent his career studying. But a traditional Yapese style hut may have more exposure to the elements than his gear can afford, leaving his job and research in a precarious position. His friends on Yap, Darrell and Tiffany, know that Steve is there to work, so they feel he has to be a little more practical and stick to modern construction. Local expert Maggie is caught between Steve's desire to live his dream and Darryl and Tiffany's more experienced opinion.

After running 2 ballrooms and a successful wedding design and rental company in the Midwest, Marty and Erin struggled to find a work-life balance. Caught in the middle, real estate agent Anne-Michelle tries to balance everyone needs in the remote and lush jungles of Bocas del Toro, Panama.

High Risk Off-the-Grid Living

Free-spirits Laura and Noah left the daily grind to live off-the-grid in Puna, a remote section of the Big Island of Hawaii. The couple is ready to ditch their van for permanent digs, but paradise comes at a price. To stay within budget Laura and Noah must buy a home in the highest-risk lava flow zone of Kilauea. But living in the shadow of an active volcano is the least of their worries, since finding an off-the-grid house that accommodates their lifestyle and their raw food retreat business is tougher than they thought.

Dad's Veto In Hilo

After living several years in Honolulu, Kyle is ready for a total life change. So he's swapping a luxurious city life for the countryside on the big island in Hawai'i. Kyle plans to be self-sufficient and to farm his own land. His dad, Curtis, isn't so sure about his son's desire for an off the grid lifestyle and he can't quite come to terms with his son roughing it in a home lacking in amenities. Kyle's friend and real estate agent Dylan is caught between his friends simple desire to find an off the grid home and Curtis's desire for pricy amenities.

After a life changing event, 25 year military veteran Wayne Cummings decided it was time to leave the service and spend more time with his wife and kids. For the first time as an adult, Wayne would be in charge of his life, with no orders to follow. But leaving behind his previous life as a soldier was easier said than done, so he set out on a year-long backpacking trip around Asia with his family to rediscover who Wayne the civilian is. The first stop on their adventure, Tablas Island in the Philippines, delivered the lifestyle, serenity, and farmland that Wayne was looking for. Tablas was so ideal that the Cummings Family decided to cut ties to their native Canada and make this a permanent move. However, finding the perfect property for his modern family on this Off the Grid Island is a mission that cannot be accomplished with military precision.

Shredding Montana's Backcountry

Running a sports camp with her pro backcountry snowboarder husband and supporting his career has taken Mollie to some interesting places all over the world. Now Sean wants to push his skills in the wild terrain of Northwest Montana. The career of a snowboarder doesn't last forever so Sean and Mollie want to add a level of practicality to their house hunt. Their ideal home will have a second structure to provide a rental income. Sean wants to be totally isolated, and while Mollie shares his dream of living off the grid, she also wants proximity to civilization. Real estate agent Sharon not only has to search for the right eco-friendly off the grid home, but she'll have to find a way to get her clients to compromise on just how remote they're willing to go.

A couple leaves their restaurant in Miami to enjoy a simple and sustainable life in Belize. They want to get as close to nature as they can while still staying connected so they can run their business remotely.

Idealistic Iceland

After studying cultural sustainability, Elin realized the only way to save a traditional Icelandic community, is to move to one. So she's leaving behind the creature comforts of Reykjavik, for farm life in Árneshreppur. She's dreamed about a pastoral existence with her daughter Jóhanna so she wants a romantic farmhouse, but this isolated district only has a finite supply of houses. Along for the hunt, friend and former resident Inga, knows survival here is dependent on finding a practical home. Getting to this pristine off the grid location is half the battle, learning to thrive is the other.

After everything he's seen in his 23 years in the Marines, Mark knew Alaska was the perfect place to clear his mind and get back to basics with a subsistence lifestyle. But after putting off the search because of their grueling work schedule, Francesco and Mari knew it was now or never, so they asked their son and his girlfriend Alicia to find them a home in the Macal River Valley. Wes is trying to balance his dad's request for a practical house with his moms desire for a creative style home. Deciding to live simply with nature is one thing, but Wes isn't just isn't sure how off the grid he can leave his parents.

My Way in Uruguay

A successful career as a surgeon wasn't enough for Tuti. He wanted to make a change and see what he could become as a person and as a doctor. So he's leaving everything behind in Argentina for a holistic life in Uruguay. Tuti wants to be secluded in a budget friendly off-the-grid home with enough space to treat patients. All his dreams are wrapped up in finding the perfect home and nothing quite measures up. His friend, Lindsay, must help this city boy adapt to a simpler and stripped down lifestyle off-the-grid in Punta del Diablo, Uruguay.
