Season 68, Episode 8

A Family Flees Canada to Afford Living Off One Income in Asunción, Paraguay

Joel and Kate Chury have comfortable lives just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia. Married for three and a half years, Kate is a full-time dietician while Joel works as a freelance business writer. But after the birth of their son Silas, the couple began reevaluating their priorities, valuing family-time over a two-income home. And a work trip to Paraguay showed Joel firsthand just how comfortably his family could live on less money in South America. In pursuit of an easier life, the couple is taking a leap of faith and relocating to the country's capital, Asuncion, with Kate trading in her breadwinner status to become a stay at home mom, relying entirely on Joel's freelance job. But with expats swarming over Paraguay, eager to take advantage of the country's low cost of living and a fast growing economy, the Chury Family will try to find a brand new, 3 bedroom home for 1,000 dollars. Find out if Joel & Kate find an inexpensive home that meets their expensive taste when House Hunters International settles into Asuncion, Paraguay.
