'Home Town' Homeowner Profile: Amber Hayes
Find out about Amber Hayes — a Nashville singer-songwriter who was eager to get back to her small-town roots, and found just what she was looking for in Laurel, MS. Amber is the homeowner featured in the Season 1 finale of HGTV's Home Town.
Home Town host Erin Napier likes to get a little background and personal history on her clients and families before renovation work begins — to help get a feel for the kind of design, features and aesthetic choices that might work best in their home. Here are a few insights provided by client Amber Hayes featured in the episode titled "Country Singer Moves From The Big City to a Small Town."
Erin: Tell us about who will be living in this house. What do you love to do? What are you each passionate about?
Amber: I love music. I'm passionate about that, about entertaining, my faith, Titans football, history of country music, Oklahoma, my family, my friends who are like family, my dog, the Oregon coast, and Oregon Pinot Noir.
Erin: Is there an object in your current home that you love that you think may be weird, ugly or unusual? For instance, I have a porcelain Elvis bust on a bookcase in my living room!
Amber: I have an original Ryman Auditorium pew in my "record" room! I ran across it by chance at a antique show. ere's only 13 that were removed from the Ryman when it was renovated.
Erin: How would you describe your personality?
Amber: Outgoing, loyal, genuine, passionate, ambitious, I might be a little bossy, and just a little opinionated, spunky, and I try to be sweet. I’m a southern belle with a little of a free spirited bohemian streak!
