Home Town host Erin Napier likes to get a little background and personal history on her clients and families before renovation work begins — to help get a feel for the kind of design, features and aesthetic choices that might work best in their home. Here are a few insights provided by client Linda Carson featured in the episode titled "Military Family Finds Small-Town Charm in Mississippi".
Erin: Tell us about each person who will be living in this house. What do you love todo? What are you each passionate about?
Linda: I love cooking, dinner parties, hosting cooking classes, photography, reading, painting, dabbling at writing children's books, home decorating and travel. Both Scott's and my passion is people — getting to know them and sharing time with them in our home. We used to live in Europe and so enjoyed traveling. And, of course, we adore our family. My passions continue with antiques. I love and have large antique baskets from Europe, old books and pewter, German, linen grain sacks. I collect cookbooks and cooking magazines and I love all different kinds of music. I have a Crosley record player and I've started collecting vinyl.
Erin: How would you describe your home and personal style?
Linda: French and Italian country homes with subdued lighting are most inspiring to me. Love the nubby textures of linen and muslin. I have natural wood furniture from Germany and France and of course my large antique baskets hold serving trays, etc. in about every room. Love reclaimed and re-purposed wood furniture and cushy chairs and sofas.
