A Sense of History
Hand-carved, 200-year-old church doors from Mexico create a dramatic headboard and pack a colorful punch in this soothing bedroom.
A night stand fashioned from wood wall shelves saves space and creates an open, airy feeling. The recycled metal sling chairs add an industrial feel to the luxurious bedroom.
Kitchen and Breakfast Room
Bex transformed a utility room into a breakfast nook. A large arch creates a dramatic entry to the sunny nook that houses a copper table and built-in bench seating. Wood cubes flanking the windows create a display for flowers from the homeowner's garden.
Bex designed custom metallic wallpaper to create a focal wall in this hip, urban loft. Plush Art Deco chairs add textural (and colorful) contrast.
Downtown Deco Modern Loft
Modern and vintage furnishings blend to create a hip space that is both playful and sophisticated. The neutral walls and furnishings are accented with pops of tangerine and blue in this unexpected, artistic color palate.
Luxurious fabrics in a neutral palate are combined with bronze, silver, chrome, and crystal accents to create fashion-forward glamour.
French Industrial Dining
Chandeliers fashioned from antique wine barrel staves illuminate this dramatic dining room. The furnishings are made from reclaimed pine. Bex created the custom wall treatment from pages of vintage books.
San Francisco Sitting Room
Bex marries Art Deco and modern furnishings in this San Francisco Victorian. The clean lines play off the original architecture, creating a sophisticated room that is both classic and modern.
A wild chrome-and-crystal chandelier adds a glamorous touch to the marble tub in this elegant bathroom.
West Texas Ranch
Hale’s design in this dining room pays homage to this ranch's rich cultural heritage that spanned from Mexico to West Texas. The arches were created from limestone quarried locally and the floors were fashioned from reclaimed barn wood. The home showcases antiques that Bex hand-selected in South-Central Mexico and Northern Africa.
Hale created a rustic and elegant lodge-style setting where the homeowner, a cattle rancher and avid hunter, can entertain large groups of West Texas cowboys. Built-in stone benches add additional seating and create stylish storage for firewood underneath.
His and Hers Design
He wanted a rustic, manly feel; she wanted a bedroom that reminded her of their Cabo honeymoon suite with bright colors and mosquito nets. Bex combined both of their visions by pairing bold colors with rustic timbers and leather in this master bedroom.
Rustic Guest Room
A warm palate of copper and aubergine with turquoise accents sets the mood for this rustic room where visiting cowboys and hunters hang their hats. Authentic, antique sombreros from Mexico adorn the hand-glazed walls.
White silk drapery frames Deco-inspired furniture with chrome accents. A pearl glaze creates dramatic horizontal stripes that add a bold, graphic layer to this all-white bedroom.
Funky Family Room
A tweed sectional on a colorful rug anchors the gold leather chair and turquoise accents. Bex painted a vintage door and hung it by industrial barn door sliders as a eye-catching solution to conceal a passageway in this cozy family room.
Rustic and Refined
A custom wall treatment with layers of metallic copper and clay pigments sets off the reclaimed wood bed in this sleek and cozy San Francisco bedroom.
Industrial Vintage Study
Tufted linen upholstery adds a soft touch to the industrial vintage study. The reclaimed pine cabinet is illuminated by an iron cage chandelier.
A bold mix of color, fabrics and textures creates playfulness in this teen's whimsical bedroom. Showcasing "art eco" design, the headboard is fashioned from antique ceiling tins. The ottoman at the foot of the bed is upholstered in a looped rug.
Dining with Elvis
Benches fashioned from WWII ammunition trunks create interest and intrigue in this colorful and eclectic dining room; a perfect example of Bex’s signature “art eco” design style. A vintage velvet Elvis showcases the homeowner's funky style and sense of humor.
Metallics in chrome and Champagne tones set off this luxurious bedroom with an upholstered linen bed adorned with crystal-covered pillows and a fur throw.
