Genevieve Gorder embarks on a gutsy New York City renovation project - her own! She's bought the rundown place next door to make more space for her and daughter Bebelle and has a plan to connect the two apartments into one. But how will a working mom juggle an impossible schedule with a complicated home renovation? One room at a time!
Genevieve is out of town on assignment when a hidden chimney pipe threatens her plan to connect the two apartments. Fearing she won't be able to complete the breakthrough and Bebelle's new bedroom on budget, she calls on a friend to investigate the problem.
With several rooms done, and with the apartments successfully connected into one, Genevieve embarks on her master suite! But plumbing problems lead to budget overages and could compromise her design. How will she make up the difference?
Genevieve moves to the top floor of her apartment and tackles the guest suite. But before tiling the bathroom, decisions have to be made about water-proofing. Still playing catch-up with the budget, she gets creative with cost-saving design decisions and enlists her bookkeeper Penny to help with painting.
The living room and home office offer unique design challenges for Genevieve. She recruits a few friends for inspiration, and goes out on a limb to make up for something special she can't put out on the terrace. In the end, bold choices lead to WOW.
Anxious to get things back to normal for her and daughter Bebelle, Genevieve rolls up her sleeves and takes a field trip to a blacksmith's, picks up a nail gun and gets busy during the final stages of her home renovation. But it's all worth it in the end as some of her closest friends show up to celebrate a reveal of the most dramatic rooms in the apartment!
