A Size-Challenged Home Goes Vegas Cottage Glam
Aubrey and Bristol use clever design and craftsmanship to turn a small house with inconvenient layouts into an open concept masterpiece.
Living Space Reimagined
The Flip or Flop Vegas hosts opened up walls and reconfigured layouts to bring this small 3-bedroom home in Silverado Ranch, Nevada, up to Vegas buyers’ standards.
Living Room, Before
The entrance of the house left much to be desired, with popcorn ceilings, limited space and, of course, dirty carpet.
Living Room, After
Removing the wall in the foyer opens up the space immediately upon entering. New hardwood flooring stretches throughout the entire house, making each space feel bigger than it actually is.
Living Room, After
Aubrey was inspired by seeing a similar plaque wall in Las Vegas and recruited Bristol to custom-build their own for this flip.
Living Room, Before
While the fireplace was in good structural shape, it needed an update that would appeal to buyers looking for high design elements in their new living space.
Living Room, After
After removing the living room wall, Bristol and Aubrey had much more room to get creative with the size-challenged kitchen and bring the two spaces together for a coveted open concept.
Living Room, After
The green mosaic on the new fireplace ties all of the design elements of the main living spaces together, and the whitewashed reclaimed wood above it create a custom look for turnkey buyers.
Kitchen, Before
The former kitchen required a full gut job: cabinets, floors, back door and closing off that window.
Kitchen, Before
Think you couldn’t fit an island and a dining table in here? Think again.
Kitchen, After
Aubrey was determined, despite Bristol’s skepticism, to build a custom island for the new kitchen. The granite for the island has touches of color to complement the rest of the kitchen’s green theme and the island’s green base.
Kitchen, After
Removing the wall between the living room and kitchen showcases the brand new white cabinets, backsplash and granite countertops.
Backyard, Before
The house already had a pergola that was in great shape. As for the rest of the backyard? Not so much.
Backyard, After
Aubrey took advantage of the existing pergola and created several more entertaining areas for the new backyard.
Backyard, Before
Bristol and Aubrey love their own outdoor space and always prioritize front and back yards in their flips as potential diamonds in the rough.
Backyard, After
Low maintenance landscaping is key for the Vegas climate, and the Marundes delivered with style.
Master Bathroom, Before
Everything in the outdated former master bath had to go, and Bristol and Aubrey needed several more feet of space to make it appealing to buyers.
Master Bathroom, After
Out with the tub, in with the custom walk-in shower and high-design lighting fixtures.
Master Bathroom, After
Double sinks are a must for the master bathroom’s vanity, Aubrey says. The new fixtures and vanity mirror create serious glam that Vegas buyers are looking for.
Master Bedroom, Before
The previous master bedroom wasn’t a complete disaster, but like the rest of the house, the carpet needed to go.
Master Bedroom, After
Fresh paint, a new lighting fixture and carrying the hardwood floors through to the master bedroom all create a bright and airy master getaway.
