Fans Spot a Ghost-Like Figure in the Latest Episode of 'Farmhouse Fixer'

“We were all shocked to see the figure in the window in the footage of the John Proctor House,” an HGTV producer confirms.

Something witchy happened during the latest episode of Farmhouse Fixer, which featured the renovation of a circa-1600s New England home with a very sordid (read: haunted) past. The show's hosts Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin were faced with the *sinister* task of renovating the once-home of John Proctor. Yes, that John Proctor — the one from The Crucible.

“Remember the Salem Witch Trials?” Jon asked Kristina at the beginning of the episode. “His wife was accused of being a witch … he ended up getting hung. This was his house.”

Needless to say, the pair was a bit frightened. “I’m getting goosebumps,” said Jon (who seemed especially jumpy on set) before entering the 400-year-old home for the first time. "The first thing we noticed were little crosses on the walls everywhere," Jon tells HGTV. "There were [also] curtains hanging from the attic stairwell entry. We were told it was to keep the ghost juices from coming down from the attic."

Viewers got a taste of plenty of eerie moments throughout the episode, but Twitter quickly spotted something — or should we say, someone — neither Jon, nor Kristina, nor anyone else on set that day noticed: a long-haired figure staring soberly out of an upstairs window of the home.

We combed through the latest episode to see the mystery figure for ourselves. The moment is so quick that it’s easy to miss, but make no mistake — as one Twitter user put it, “once that girl is seen she cannot be unseen.”

However, not everyone was convinced the figure in the window was actually a surprise to the show's producers and hosts.

Obviously, we went straight to the source for all the answers.

“We were all shocked to see the figure in the window in the footage of the John Proctor House,” says Victoria Chiaro, Farmhouse Fixer Executive Producer. “We didn’t see any spirits while renovating, but the house definitely had an eerie, ghostly presence. It made Jon, Kristina and the crew feel incredibly disturbed.”

Field producers also revealed every room contained a crucifix.

“The energy was definitely heavy in there," says Victoria Levy, Farmhouse Fixer Co-Executive Producer. "Myself and our audio guy really felt the presence of all the lives that had existed there and what they went through. I 1000% believe it’s haunted. So much happened there.”

Fans spotted the figure as the camera panned over the front of the home.

"I believe the homeowner had somebody come in to the house to evaluate it for paranormal activity, and they confirmed there are spirits," says Jon, who responded to fans on Instagram the day after the episode aired, expressing shock.

“This is freaking me out,” he wrote. “So many weird things happened while filming! How did a viewer even spot this? I should have been more visually aware. The random sounds were enough to scare me!”
