Homeowners Matt and Patricia Stamos are thankful for all the furniture they received from Patricia's parents, but are seeking a home that is more their style. With Host Karen McAloon's help they transform this living room by breaking the sectional sofa up, repainting the walls and turning a coffee table into a comfortable ottoman.
Paris-Inspired Dining Room
Homeowners Matt and Lara Hitchcock have a boring muddy-colored dining room. With the help of Host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team, they give the space a Paris flea market look by painting the walls yellow, remixing a door into a new dining table and pairing mismatched chairs.
Salvage Chic Family Room
Homeowners Joshua and Kendra Collins need a more welcoming style for their family room, which is also used as an office and a dressing room. Host Karen McAloon and the design team find a way to create a salvage chic look with the couple's collected items from around the world. They build a dressing screen from old doors, create new window coverings from curtains and leather strips and tie it all together with a warm yellow color on the walls.
Eclectic Media Room
Newlyweds Cliff Wong and Helen Chen have a bland family room that needs life. The Design Remix team transforms this beige room centered around a giant TV into a cozy, contemporary media room. Warm colors and a faux fireplace made from an old wooden dresser help bring the focal point away from the TV. A shiny chandelier, floral wreath forms and Christmas beads add the perfect finishing touches.
Romantic Victorian Bedroom
Parents Jessica and Jake Blumenfeld need to turn their cluttered bedroom into a cozy retreat for two. Host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team finds new uses for some old lamps and photographs found in the garage. A jewelry cabinet is built from scrap wood and old window screens, turning the bedroom into a romantic Victorian hideaway with deep colors and ornate fixtures.
Garden-Inspired Master Bedroom
Host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team help homeowners Remi and Brian Adams transform their two-tone, mismatched bedroom with a clean look that reflects their personalities. Basing her idea on an old iron gate found in the yard, McAloon creates a garden-inspired master bedroom where the couple can relax.
Moroccan-Inspired Basement
Although homeowners Harry and Roberta Ault's Moroccan tent business may have failed, not all was lost. The Design Remix team takes their inspiration from the pieces and designs a desert-style sitting room. They combine Moroccan furniture with faux mosaic floors and warm colors to create a relaxing and cozy lounge for the couple.
Modern Tropical Living Room
Ben and Rochella Fontela's Filipino heritage provides the inspiration for their new modern tropical-style living room. Bamboo accents and deep orange walls with copper layers help turn the cluttered living room into a warm relaxing space that evokes the feel of the islands.
Country Family Room
Homeowners Sue and Steve Austin's family room is cluttered and bland. Host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team help out by plastering the fireplace white, putting up new curtains and painting the walls for a defined country style.
Timeless, Warm Family Room
Host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team give homeowners Kyle and Mary Beth Stadt a whole new look for their haphazard family room. Warm, intimate colors help bring out the distinctive features of the walls, and a little furniture rearranging transforms the awkward shape of the room. Using their favorite piece in the room—a contemporary black couch—as their base, the team creates a contemporary, high-end and timeless look that gives the room purpose and style.
Modern/Retro Living Room
Homeowners Susan Donaldson and Scheffer Ely find a way to make their living room filled with an eclectic mix of hand-me-downs modern and useful without losing its unique style. Unconventional yet chic window treatments, contemporary and easy-to-make lighting fixtures and a coat holder made from the homeowners' old wedding sign are combined to create a retro, but modern style.
Tropical Living Room
Young couple Jessica and Justin Hanson have tried to create a surf shack feel for their living room, but instead of a tropical oasis, they have a cluttered and uncomfortable room. By bringing in some Balinese accents, building a little extra storage from leftover kitchen cabinets and making some creative art pieces, host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team bring warmth and comfort into the room to create the ultimate tropical style.
Modern Media Room
Homeowners Margie and John Cwikla live in a modern, urban loft, but their hope to have a sleek media room has turned into an oversized storage space for keys and mail. With lots of color and unique storage, host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team help turn this haphazard room into the modern media room the couple had always intended. A projector stand is made from their old bedroom armoire, and the walls get a graffiti treatment, giving this room an urban twist.
