This rustic table runner is made with wood slices from a branch you can find in your own backyard.

canvas drop cloth
tape measure
scissors
pencil
hot glue gun
glue sticks
satin clear polyurethane
miter saw
dried branches (about 2” in diameter)

Cut Branches

Cut dried branches about 1/4-inch thick, about 150-200 wood slices, with a miter saw.

Cut Drop Cloth

Measure and mark the width of the runner at 12" on a canvas drop cloth. Measure and mark the length of the table runner at 6 feet. Cut the canvas drop cloth on the marks using scissors.

Attach Slices

Using a hot glue gun, start gluing slices from right to left at one end of the canvas. Continue gluing to cover the entire canvas.

Spray Protective Coating

Spray the entire piece with satin clear polyurethane, and display on your dining table.
