Part of the pleasure of giving the gift of a bulb is the surprise when the flowers finally bloom. Use pebbles or river rocks to adjust flower bulbs to the perfect height.

Part of the pleasure of giving the gift of a bulb is the surprise when the flowers finally bloom. Use pebbles or river rocks to adjust flower bulbs to the perfect height.

Materials:

  • Amaryllis and paperwhite bulbs 
  • Jars* 
  • Stones
  • Twine 

Directions:

Fill your jars with a handful of stones from your garden or craft store. If you use an opaque jar like I did, then something simple like gravel will work perfectly. If you choose a clear jar, then try more decorative stones like river rocks or colorful glass gems. 

Position the bulb to where about half of it is visible in the top of the jar. 

Tie a holiday ribbon or colorful twine around the top and attach a note with directions to just add water.
