Vacation at Home
This backyard renovation included the installation of a 100-foot stream down one side of the property and landscaping meant to give the feel of a woodland escape. Says HGTV fan lross7577, "We don't have to travel far from our suburban home outside the city of Minneapolis to get a wonderful cabin retreat experience. We just walk out our back door."
Asian Garden
Landscape architect Keith Anderson created an award-winning landscape that includes three distinct themes, including this picturesque Asian garden.
Eight-Sided Pavilion
This beautiful pavilion, designed by Keith Anderson, is the focal point of the European-garden section of a Colorado landscape. In the planting beds on either side, 'Winter Gem' boxwoods serve as the "bones" of the plantings while cockspur hawthorn trees provide colorful winter berries.
Southwestern Garden
In the same landscape, landscape architect Keith Anderson also created this Southwest garden, complete with "musicians." Along with the Asian- and European-style gardens, the entire landscape fits into an acre lot. Social events held in the three spaces have seen up to 270 people at one time in the garden.
Dreamy Backyard
A large fan-shaped, vanishing-edge swimming pool with a swim-up bar is the center of attention in this beautiful backyard oasis designed by Scott Cohen. A perimeter-overflow spa has a built-in cocktail table and reflects lights and fire at night. Color-changing LED underwater lighting in the pool complements the sunset.
Fire and Water
In this elegant design, landscape designer Jamie Durie created a vacation-at-home destination: a lounge area around a gabion fire pit with a gorgeous view of the pool.

Eye-Catching Water Feature
"We spend a lot of time in our backyard," says HGTV fan specevents. That's no wonder, given the beauty of this waterfall and heated pool. The rest of the landscape, designed by her husband, includes terracing that creates level terrain for entertaining, a playspace and even a small vineyard.
Vacation Spot
A bell-tower rope swing, a 45-foot-long water slide, and nearby bocce and basketball courts entertain kids and adults in this hardscape designed by Scott Cohen. Bougainvillea will soon spill over the wooden arbor that forms a backdrop for the spa (right) and an upper terrace. A mosaic-tiled spillway cascades from the spa to the pool.
Playtime for a Crowd
Multiple play areas and plenty of lounging options coexist happily in this beautiful hardscape, perfect for relaxing and entertaining. Rock columns on the deck perimeter help unify the look.
A Fresh Perspective
In a gorgeous hardscape design by Jamie Durie, a swim (or a walk) to the other side of the pool rewards you with this beautiful away-from-home setting.

Robinson Crusoe Getaway
The faux-rock water slide of designer Scott Cohen's Robinson Crusoe landscape gives young "pirates" a good view of their terrain. All "boulders" were made on site: Bent rebar cages were hand-packed with concrete, hand-carved and textured with rubber mats.
