Tour a Rustic New York Patio
Dan and Dasha Faires invite you to tour the stunning mini-garden outside their New York apartment.
Dan and Dasha
Dan Faires and his wife, Dasha, relocated from Arkansas to New York in search of greater opportunities for their design-focused minds. Though the switch from open acres to city was a tough adjustment, that didn't stop Dan and Dasha from turning their 375-square-foot apartment into a rustic space with a homey feel.
Two-Step Escape
The couple's shotgun-style apartment layout means entering the patio through their bedroom.
Outdoor Living
Dan and Dasha's vibrant patio is a great escape from the city and has enough space to entertain friends and family.
Just a Dash
Dasha's love of decorating and styling balances Dan's industrial style. She covered their custom-made table in chic table settings and added lots of greenery to add life to the outdoor space.
Dan-Made
Dan is known for his rustic style using reclaimed materials and this beautiful dining table is no exception – the table is made up of old barn planks and galvanized pipes originally intended for plumbing.
Rustic Wall
Dan also built a partition wall out of reclaimed wood recovered from an old building.
Pretty Planters
Dan and Dasha painted terracotta pots black to fit in with their sleek outdoor room.
A Little Light
Dan strung lights along the exterior of the building and the fence, creating a warm glow at night.
