How to Upcycle an Old Pallet Into Garage Storage
Turn an old pallet into a place to store tools large and small.

Materials Needed
- old pallet
- sandpaper
- scrap reclaimed wood
- copper pipe and fittings
- contact cement
- circular saw
- palm sander
- tape measure
- drill
- concrete or wood screws
- safety equipment
Smooth Rough Edges
Clean up the pallet's rough edges with a palm sander and 220-grit sandpaper.

Secure Pallet to Wall
Attach the pallet to the wall with a drill and screws. Use concrete screws for cinder block walls and wood screws for drywall.

Cut Reclaimed Wood
Measure and cut pieces of scrap or reclaimed wood at the same width of the pallet. These will fit above and in between the open slats of the pallet for decorative and extra storage purposes.
Attach Copper Piping
Sand copper piping to get rid of the shine. Screw copper end caps through the back of the top piece of reclaimed wood spaced at the same width as the 90-degree elbow pipe. Apply contact cement to the ends of the elbow piping, and fit onto the end caps to create a rack. Attach a few 90-degree elbows directly to the reclaimed wood to create hooks if desired.

Attach Reclaimed Wood
Use a drill and screws to attach the reclaimed wood piece to the front of the pallet, followed by the other wood pieces. Place tools inside, on the rack and on hooks.
