Vintage With a Twist
This vintage cabinet drawer had slots perfectly sized for wine bottles, but instead of displaying it horizontally, the homeowners flipped the drawer on its side and secured it to the wall for some charming and unique shelving. Doesn't it look like something new (and expensive) from Anthropologie or Pottery Barn?
Multipurpose Vases
If you're short on space, a good rule of thumb for home decor is to only buy items that serve more than one purpose. These custom-made wood hexagons from Etsy are completely customizable as each sleeve can stack on top of or nest next to another sleeve. And they go vertical, too. In fact, you can use these as both wine storage and modern vases. Cluster a couple together with eucalyptus for a show-stopping centerpiece.

Statement Art
Originally created for the use of making champagne in the early 1800s, French riddling racks have found popularity with homeowners for their clever adaptation as wine bottle displays. It's the perfect way to show off empty bottles from special occasions or important years. And don't worry if you don't have enough bottles to fill it. You can use air plants (or even faux air plants) for the open holes. It makes a striking statement on a buffet in a dining room or even in an entryway.

Clever Cubbies
Can you see the wine storage? Look again. This homeowner took awkward, dead space between the fridge and a half wall and turned it into floor-to-ceiling wine bottle cubbies.

Magnolia Vibes
Love Fixer Upper style? This wall-mounted wine bar has Joanna Gaines vibes all over it. This setup is perfect if you love to entertain but don't have the budget for a big bar cart. Just remember that with any vertical wine storage — no matter how cute — you need to periodically rotate the bottle to keep the cork wet. This ensures a proper seal.

Tapestry Storage
Hanging boho textiles is big in design right now, from faux headboards to statement walls. But this woven wonder from Anthropologie is quite possibly the best of all because it holds wine! One runner would look great in a small alcove, but we're dreaming of an entire wall lined with these wine panels.

Modernized Heirloom
Family furniture is tricky. You don't want to give it away, but you also probably don't need an entire bedroom suite of antique cherry wood furniture. A happy compromise, and one that keeps heirlooms in use and in the family, is to update pieces for modern use. If you have a big, antique buffet or chest of drawers, turn the cabinets into wine bottle cubbies.
Hive-Inspired
Bees know a thing or two about compact, efficient design, and this nesting honeycomb rack proves just that. The customizable units sold on Etsy can be rearranged in tons of different combinations to suit your counter space.

Wine Wall Art
Not all wine bottles should be hidden in a basement cellar — especially if they're sentimental. This stunning vintage-inspired brass hanging rack from Anthropologie is perfect for displaying a select few special wine bottles as art on the wall. You could even tell a story with it by holding a bottle from a wedding or bottles from important years in your life.

Horizontal Storage
This wet bar features impressive, glass-enclosed liquor and wine storage, but what caught our eye was the placement of wine holders on the left. The homeowners created a minimal-style grid that gives the impression of bottles that are floating.
Contemporary Shapes
This custom built-in unit plays with negative space in a fun, almost whimsical way. The large shelving units display racks of uniform glasses and stemware, and it's perfectly juxtaposed against a narrow, V-shaped compartment for the wine bottles that almost resembles stacked firewood.
Above the Fridge
This smart, modern kitchen leaves no nook unused — even the weird space above the fridge. While many of us use this space for Costco packs of paper towels, these homeowners are using it for more than 30 bottles of wine.
Cork Catcher
If you love to collect or craft with wine corks, display your hoard in style with this barrel-style side table from Etsy creator Better Home Space. The table features room for a glass or two on top plus a "cork catcher" within the barrel where you can drop corks into it like a piggy bank.

Chilling Storage
When you live in a small space, you don't have room for many statement pieces such as a glamorous bar cart. But these ultra-luxe marble units from Anthropologie can scratch that itch and turn any nook or countertop corner into a seriously chic vignette. Plus, it can be chilled ahead of time to keep bottles nice and cold.

Unexpected Furniture
Instead of just looking for home furniture to upcycle, expand your thrifting to industrial furniture and salvage yards. This vintage library cabinet looks gorgeous as a dining room buffet and — should those built-ins to the side run out of space — the drawers are perfect for storing single bottles.
DIY A-Frame
Six-across wine racks are the most common units sold in home decor and big box stores. But they're also incredibly easy to make. This DIY wine rack has a bit of a Scandinavian vibe with light wood and a modern A-frame design. It's perfect for bringing out additional wine storage for holiday entertaining or a homemade gift for the wine enthusiast. Get the how-to from our friends at DIY Network.
Floating Shelves
If you're short on counter and floor space, you can fake a wine bar on the wall with floating shelves. These handmade shelves from Pottery Barn feature grooves for up to six bottles of wine per shelf and come in six different colors to match your existing cabinets or furniture.

Outdoor Storage
Why walk back inside for wine when you can have a wine bar outside? This fold-out table makes the cutest little wine bar for a patio or porch. Just remember to take bottles back inside — especially during the summer. Hot temps and wine don't mix.
Pegboard Bar
We love a good pegboard at HGTV. It's great for organizing pantries, utility closets, mudrooms and even extra wine bottles! The black and white painted squares make this classic storage look extra chic, too.
Organic Materials
Accordion-style wine racks are some of the most popular, but instead of a cheap, plastic unit from a big-box store, check out this organic bamboo stand from Etsy. The rack is minimal and can be folded away or set on a pantry shelf with wine. But it's also pretty enough to be brought out for entertaining and looks great on the table. You could even incorporate it into a centerpiece for a dinner party or brunch when you need to open several bottles at a time.

Secret Storage
When you think of wine storage, you probably think of the dining room or the kitchen. But these homeowners created a secret cubby in their media room built-in just for wine. The four drawers inside are very narrow — designed for the size of wine bottles — and maximize the storage space perfectly.

Repurposed Horseshoes
Love rustic style? Check out this clever horseshoe rack on Etsy. The online maker has a smaller version, too, which would be perfect for displaying and storing wine at a barn wedding.

Almost-Custom Trays
If custom built-ins with custom wine cabinets are out of your budget, you can fake it in one of your own cabinets without any remodeling. These pull-out, stackable trays from Amazon come in several widths and heights to fit inside whatever cabinet space you have available. And the trays pull out all the way so that nothing gets lost or forgotten in the back.

Clever Vintage
This simple upcycle had us asking, "Why didn't we think of that?" For some old Hollywood glam, you could use gold gilding paint to make this old movie reel really shine. But we love the rustic appeal of the weathered metal, too.

Repurpose a Dresser
If you don't mind a little elbow grease, create your own wine buffet for the dining room from a bedroom dresser (or similar furniture piece). Look for furniture with good bones, then knock out drawers, add wine cubbies and a fresh coat of paint. Kim and Lori of That's So Creative are the masterminds behind this repurposed wine buffet.
