Before You Begin

Before you start your kitchen transformation, here are the materials you will need: peel and stick removable wallpaper, plastic card for smoothing, craft knife, a measuring tape, a straight edge, a screwdriver and a pencil.

Unroll + Peel

Start by unrolling the removable wallpaper and peeling the corner of the paper backing away from the sticky side.

Apply to Wall

Carefully place the wallpaper on the wall beneath the cabinets, lining up the top edge with the underside of the cabinets.

Smooth Out Wrinkles

Use a plastic card to smooth out wrinkles as you go, slowly peeling off the paper backing as you apply more wallpaper to the wall.

Trim Edges

Using a craft knife, remove any excess wallpaper from the bottom so that the edge lines up with the counter top.

Remove Cover + Measure

To work around power outlets, remove the plastic cover with a screwdriver. Then, use a measuring tape to measure the distance between the edge of the first wallpaper piece and the outlet, and then the dimensions of the outlet itself.

Trace + Cut

Using a pencil and straight edge, trace the outline of the outlet onto the next piece of wallpaper and then use the craft knife to cut it out.

Apply + Smooth

Remove the outlet cut out from the sheet of wallpaper, and then line up the edge with the first piece, adjusting it as needed to make sure the design or pattern lines up so that it looks seamless. Repeat the process of smoothing with a plastic card and trimming the edges as you go.

Cutting Corners

For working around complicated corners, measure each space and cut strips of paper as needed. Use the craft knife and straight edge to trim the edges to fit.

Cover the Rest of the Wall

Smooth all pieces with the plastic card, and continue the process until the entire wall is covered.

The Finished Look

Once the wall is covered, your kitchen will be transformed! To remove the backsplash, simply peel the paper away from the wall.
