DIY for Kids: Cubby With Legs

Materials Needed:
- plastic crate
- wood, birch panel (specially cut to fit inside and under the crate)
- sandpaper
- angled top plates (hardware)
- furniture legs (McCobb Mid Century Modern 4" legs in white pine)
- medium-sized clear hooks, such as Command
- drill
- six 1-inch screws
Step 1
Have a piece of wood cut to fit inside the crate as a shelf, and another piece to cover the bottom as a base. Sand all edges.
Step 2
Screw an angled top plate to each corner of the wood base piece. Screw in legs.
Step 3
Set crate on base as shown in final image above. From inside the crate, use a drill and six 1" screws (two in the front and back, and one on each side) to attach the crate to the base.
Step 4
Affix four clear self-adhesive hooks inside the crate. Set the shelf on top of the hooks.
