Quality is essential when it comes to bathroom sink or tub faucets. Solid brass construction, as opposed to plated metal, will greatly increase the life span and overall durability of a faucet. You'll likely save in the long run by investing in a quality faucet construction now, as opposed to paying a plumber later.

There are four standard configurations for bathroom sink faucets: 8-inch (widespread), 4-inch, single-hole and wall-mount. Except for wall-mount faucets, all of these can be mounted on the sink deck. Measuring the span between the centers of the two outermost faucet holes in your sink will determine which type of faucet it can accommodate. If you have a vessel or undermounted sink, a wall faucet is an option.

Tub faucets come in a wide variety of styles, including gooseneck, wall mounted, deck mounted (attached to the deck of the bathtub), and free-standing. All of these styles can also incorporate a hand shower.

In terms of finish, oil-rubbed bronze works well with traditional styles, whereas polished nickel is commonly used in modern, contemporary and traditional designs.
