Cinnamon honey butter is a sweet, savory treat that is delicious spread across a slice of cornbread. A jar of this cinnamon honey butter paired with a cornbread mix is the perfect, comfort food to give. Wrap it in a cast iron skillet for an extra, down-home holiday feel. This recipe makes three half-pint jars of butter and 3 half-pint jars of cornbread mix.

Honey Butter Ingredients:

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3 half-pint canning jars

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Use the whisk attachment on a mixer, blend until smooth and creamy, scrape down sides of bowl as needed.

Pour mixture in to a large pastry bag (or Ziploc bag), cut off tip and squeeze into half-pint jars. 

Cornbread Mix Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1⁄4 cup baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups instant nonfat dry milk powder
  • 3 1⁄2 cups yellow cornmeal

Directions: 

Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and spoon out approximately 2 cups into half-pint jars.

Attach directions that read:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix 2 cups cornbread mix, 1 egg, 1 cup of water and 1 ½ tablespoons butter or oil in a mixing bowl. Pour batter into lightly greased 8-inch square pan or cast iron skillet and bake for 25 minutes.
