Here's Everything You Need to Know for Prime Day 2019, Plus Deals to Shop NOW
Even bigger than Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon Prime Day offers dramatic savings for a short window of time — but you have to act fast.
So, what do you need to know to make the most of this year's Prime Day? Consider these 10 tips your guide to catching the best deals.
1: You must be a Prime member. Think of Prime Day like an exclusive club — if you aren't a member, you're stuck outside the velvet rope. But, great news: joining is easy! You can even sign up for a 30-day free trial to enjoy the many, many benefits of being a Prime member (including, of course, shopping Prime Day).
2: Amazon pre-games the main event with lead-up deals. Officially, Prime Day starts at midnight PT on Monday, July 15 and runs for a full 48 hours, ending Tuesday, July 16 — but — select items are already on sale with new deals emerging that feature some of Amazon's lowest prices of the year on everything from fashion must-haves and furniture to home goods and tech.
3: Be ready to shop those Lightning Deals. New this year, Prime Day will offer featured Lightning Deals. These deals will include jaw-dropping prices on top-tier brands. Due to the nature of these deals, many will have limited quantities and could sell out fast, so you should check frequently to view new deals launching throughout the 48-hour event.
4: You can get a Prime Day sneak peek. Download the Amazon app for the easiest way to keep an eye on the deals you're coveting. Best of all, the app will even notify you when items you've selected go on sale. Make sure you're in the know; follow these instructions to turn on notifications.
5: This year's Prime Day will be primo. Spanning 48 hours, 2019's Prime Day (times two) will be the longest in history, offering up more than one million deals worldwide.
6: Techies, this Prime Day's for you. Prime members will enjoy the biggest deals to date on Alexa-enabled products. So, if giving your abode a smart-home update has been on your to-do list, Prime Day will help you check it off. And, deals on tech have already begun! Today through June 30, save $120 on the Toshiba HD 43-Inch Fire TV Edition Smart TV (now $179.99). Plus, get 40% off the myQ Smart Garage Hub + Amazon Cloud Cam Kit (now $99.98).
7: Alexa can help you shop. If you're one of the millions who already rely on Amazon's virtual assistant, Alexa, to stream your favorite tunes, get recipe recommendations, check the weather or send hands-free text messages, then you know how handy she can be. But did you know Alexa can also help Prime members score primo deals? Well, now you do. Technology is pretty great, right?
8: Support small and medium-sized businesses. This year, members can shop hundreds of thousands of Prime Day deals from small and medium-sized businesses around the globe and, for the first time, members will be able to shop a dedicated page of Prime Day deals from U.S.-based innovators, artisans and entrepreneurs. You can support these businesses this Prime Day by shopping deals from Amazon Storefronts, Amazon Handmade, Amazon Launchpad and more.
9: Stock your fridge for less. Prime members will enjoy bonus savings when shopping at Whole Foods Market on Prime Day, as all stores in the popular organic chain will feature deep discounts on select popular products.
10: You can even shop star-studded collaborations and exclusive launches. As Prime Day draws near, expect Amazon to reveal unique collaborations with actors, musicians, athletes and top brands with exclusive deals and launches (of course). Here's what we know so far:
• Nickelodeon is launching 24 new JoJo Siwa products – exclusively for Prime members – including a scooter, roller skates, bow bundle and a fun fashion line.
• Levi's has teamed up with pro football player Sterling Shepard and model Chanel Iman Shepard to customize Levi's Iconic 501 for him and Levi's 721 High Rise for her.
